Employer Representative Role

We are delighted to inform you of an exciting new role available to recognised organisations. The role of Employer Representative will replace and enhance that of our existing Recognition Panel Members.

Employer Representatives will be able to choose to undertake a range of roles including:

  • Reviewing a sample of assessors work for its quality;
  • Agreeing recognitions of a sample of assessments including those of key local organisations;
  • Providing an input into the strategic development of Investors in People regionally and nationally;
  • Acting as ambassadors in the region by talking to local clients, networking and presenting your successes of working with Investors in People;
  • Helping clients to make the most of working with Investors in People and helping to celebrate their success;
  • Supporting the development of our assessors and advisers to ensure they are aware of the most current business and sectoral issues;
  • Helping with research and development linked to Investors in People and working in similar ways with other standards we deliver.

Employer Representatives will benefit from:

  • Regular meetings to network and share practice;
  • Attendance at specialist development events and learning sets
  • Insight into the best practice of a wide range of organisations in the area and nationally;
  • Promotion of yourselves and your companies through our web site, newsletter, case studies and events;
  • Use of the 'Employer Representative for Investors in People and Investors in People NE' designation on your own materials;
  • Raising your profile in the local business community and activities to add to your own continuous professional development.

In order to fulfill the role we would ask the following requirements. Employer representatives must be:

  • Willing to be a representative for a minimum of two years
  • Prepared to give a minimum of 5 days per year time on a voluntary basis
  • Able to add insights and knowledge in areas such as Organisational Development, Human Resources, Learning and Development, Strategic Planning, Marketing, Research & Development or Organisational Performance Standards
  • Willing to attend at least 2 x ½ day Employer Representative meetings per year
  • Willing to sign an agreement / charter agreeing to role and expectations

Employer Representatives must also be willing to undertake at least one of the following roles:

  • Recognition of organisations
  • Review of assessment reports / assessor / advisor work
  • Review of quality and customer satisfaction
  • Input to assessor and advisor development
  • Promotion of Investors in People / Centre
  • Speaking at events / networks
  • Direct engagement with Investors in People clients
  • Strategic input to centre / Investors in People UK
  • Research and development
  • Working with other standards delivered by Investors in People NE
