New accreditation - Committed2Equality (c2e) Diversity Assured
The 'Equality Act 2010' passed in April requires
the public sector to demonstrate fair employment practices
internally, and more importantly for the private sector, to
demonstrate they are spending with equality assured organisations.
What this means for a lot of us is that we need to demonstrate our
commitment to equality and diversity when tendering for public
sector contracts.
There are a few awarding bodies approved to certify such a
commitment; Committed 2 Equality (c2e) is a nationally recognised
accreditation which adopts a common sense approach. The c2e
Diversity Assured accreditation brings together good practice and
logical application to enhance your business - and the stamp of
approval from the public sector.
The new legislation takes force from October 2010 giving us all
some time to improve our policies and practices, and gain that
stamp of approval required to keep winning public sector
contracts.
The c2e Diversity Assured programme, launched this month in the
North East, helps you self assess your practices, and make the
necessary improvements before being audited and accredited. The
process takes approximately 8 weeks and starts at just £995 + VAT
for organisations up to 50 employees - the most cost effective
package in the region.
