Sterling work as Glendene School & Community Arts College Wins Investors in People Silver award
Glendene School
& Community Arts College, is celebrating today as it was
presented with the Investors in People Silver award.
The Easington Colliery-based School & Community Arts College
is one of just 197 organisations from around 38,000 in the UK to
have achieved this prestigious Silver status, putting it into the
top 1% nationally. On a regional level, the school is one of just
10 holders of the Silver Award.
As an Investors in People Standard recognised organisation since
2001, the latest accolade recognises the school as demonstrating a
progressive approach to improvement through people.
Eric Baker, Head Teacher at Glendene School & Community Arts
College said, "We are delighted to have achieved the Investors in
People Silver Award. This is recognition of our continuing
commitment to supporting and developing our people. The hard work
of all the Glendene staff is helping us to make our school and
wider community an even better place in which to work and learn
together."
The Investors in People national award recognises achievements
in business planning, management and training throughout an
organisation. The Investors in People team interviewed members of
Glendene's staff over three days earlier in the year to make their
assessment, and judged the school was worthy of additional
recognition.
Paul Ilczyszyn, the Investors in People assessor said, "Glendene
have integrated the principles of Investors in People within their
school seamlessly. Their managers are seen as inspirational and
they have developed a truly supportive culture aiding in the
success of the entire organisation. It has been a pleasure to work
with them."
