About ANE

Assessment North East Ltd was established in 1994, to provide an assessment service to organisations seeking the Investors in People Award. The company is limited by guarantee and has a not for distributable profit motive.

Since its formation, Assessment North East has grown considerably. Initially there were two full-time members of staff; the number of central staff has now grown to ten, with a register of 69 qualified Investors In People assessors. On average, Assessment North East services approximately 550 organisations annually; the client base covers all sectors and ranges in scope from very small to extremely large.

Assessment North East has successfully held licenses granted by IIP UK to operate as an assessment centre for Investors in People. The granting of the licenses demonstrates the ability to offer a high quality service. This is supported by the results of customer feedback surveys, where 93% of customers gave a rating of ‘good’ or ‘very good’ on the value of services provided.

In 1997, Assessment North East was invited by The Law Society to join the working group looking at the development of the Lexcel assessment network. The company subsequently became one of the first Lexcel assessment bodies in the United Kingdom in April 1998, enabling a greater diversification of client base.

In more recent times Assessment North East has succesfully developed and delivered a range of other types of assessment based activity including assessment against the SFEDI professional standards for Business Advisers and become an assessment body for the National Business Link Consultants Register.

In all Assessment North East aims to deliver a range of assessment based services that add value to organisations and individuals both in the UK and also internationally.
